Drama Audition Requirements
Students will be considered for a place in the Performing Arts Stream in Drama based on their audition. Should they be successful at audition students will be invited to an interview with the Principal.

General Criteria that students will be assessed on are:

  • Group work / cooperation / collaborative skills
  • Self-discipline / concentration and focus
  • Movement skills
  • Vocal skills
  • Creativity and imagination
  • Performance quality

In addition to this criteria students must demonstrate:

  • The ability to work independently and productively
  • Commitment to the Performing Arts both academically and in performance
  • Successful application towards their further academic studies within their other core subjects at our school

Auditions will be run by two Drama teachers.

The Drama audition will consist of:

  • A one-hour Drama Games and improvisation workshop that will include a range of drama games and scenarios that will be used to assess the skills outlined above.
  • The presentation of a 1-2 minute scripted monologue of the student’s own choosing. No poetry or self-written scripts will be accepted.

Attire:

  • Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.
