AUDITION APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR 2019 ENROLMENTS

How to apply for Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School's auditioned CAPA stream

To enroll in the Creative or the Performing Arts streams at our school applicants must be successful at audition.

Please read through the information regarding the two stages of Audition. It is important that you read the information before you apply as information has changed from previous years. 

In 2018 ALL students must apply online.                                                        

Performing Arts students
All Performing Arts students MUST submit an Online Video Audition (Year 6 into 7, through to Year 11).  All Online Video Auditions are due on the same date: Monday 30 April 2018 at 3pm. 

Creative Arts Students
All Creative Arts students (Year 6 into 7, through to Year 11) must apply using the Online Audition Application Form and will be invited to an Interview and Audition at the school in the Audition Period between 21 May and 1 June 2018. All Online Audition Applications are due on the same date: Monday 30 April at 3pm.

PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS

There are 2 rounds of Auditions:

  • First Round: Online Video Audition
  • Second Round: Successful applicants will be invited to Second Round LIVE Auditions.
     

FIRST ROUND ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS 

1. Click on the subject areas below to read through the attached First Round Video Audition Information Sheet for information on what is required in the online video audition.

2. Click on this link to apply online on the Audition Application Form. This link has now been disabled as auditions have closed.

In 2018 you will need to submit an audition video online using YouTube or Vimeo. You will need to copy and paste the link to your video into the online Audition Application Form before submitting the form.  Please click on these links to read this form for Instructions on how to upload a video to:

3. There is an Application Fee of $20 to be paid for each form submitted. Please click on the Payment Advice link for information on how to pay.

4. Submit a separate online form for each subject for which you wish you apply. 

5. You must submit your application, including your Online Video Audition and complete the Application Payment by Monday 30 April 2018.  Please Note: No further auditions will be accepted after the closing date or without payment.

6. You will receive a return email outlining what you have submitted in the form. This indicates that the school has received your application.

7. Should your child be successful at First Round Video Audition, you will be contacted by email within 2 weeks of submitting your form with the date and time of your Second Round Live Audition.

SECOND ROUND LIVE AUDITION PROCESS

1. Should your child be successful at First Round Video Audition, you will be contacted by email within 2 weeks of submitting your form with the date and time of your Second Round Live Audition.

2. Click on the subject areas below to read through the Second Round Live Audition Information Sheet for your chosen Subject Area for information on what is required in the live audition.

3. Upon your attendance at the LIVE Auditions please bring the following paperwork with you and submit to the CAPA Office upon your arrival at the audition:

     Please provide the following documents - DO NOT STAPLE  

     a) Student Photo Identification 

     b) Photocopy of the student’s Birth Certificate. 

  • If the student was not born in Australia and has an Australian passport, please also provide a copy of the student’s Australian passport.   
  • If the student’s birth certificate shows that they were born in Australia, but both of their parents were born overseas, please also provide the student’s Australian passport or documentation to show the citizenship or permanent residency of one parent at the time of the student’s birth. 

     c) Tutor or Teacher Reference

     d) Photocopy of the most recent school report.

     e) Photocopy of last NAPLAN - one page only showing the four areas with bands – NOT the whole report.

     This paperwork was emailed to you in your invite to Second Round Live Audition.

4. There is an audition fee of $60 per subject which is payable to the school a minimum of 2 days prior to the audition. The Audition will not proceed without payment as this covers administration and staff cover to audition. Please click on the Payment Advice link for information on how to pay.

5. Should your child be successful at Second Round Live Auditions you will receive an email within 3 weeks indicating your child’s successful application and an offer of a place at our school in 2019.

6. Please return your Acceptance of Offer within 2 weeks of receiving the email. If the school has not received a response your child’s position may be forfeited. 

7. If you have accepted the offer, students in Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 will receive an email at the latest in Term 3 outlining the Elective Options for 2019. Students will need to select their elective options for 2019 on an online form which will enable the school to put them in their classes for 2019.

8. All new CAPA students will be invited to an Information Evening in Week 1 of Term 4 2018 where you will:

     a) be given a tour of the school

     b) be given a welcome handbook

     c) be able to enquire regarding any further queries you have

 

CREATIVE ARTS STUDENTS

CREATIVE and PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS

Year 7 Applicants from Government Schools Only.

You will receive an Expression of Interest Form for High School, from your Primary School in March.
If you intend to audition for a place at Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School, you MUST indicate this on your Expression of Interest Form for High School and return this form to your Primary School in March.
